Welcome to Enlace!

Enlace is a membership organization comprised of worker centers, unions and organizing groups in the U.S. and in Mexico. Our members are engaged in base-building through organizing campaigns for economic and social justice. Enlace uses an integrated approach to organizing which involves creating unique campaign strategies while developing systems that strengthen organizations internally. We are building the base of low wage workers to bring balance to the struggle between the rich and working poor.

Significant Victories

SARA LEE VICTORY!

In response to a four year joint Enlace-SEDEPAC campaign, Sara Lee, one of the global leaders of the corporate movement for “a union free environment”, has agreed to employer neutrality, freedom of association and freedom from harassment for the workers organizing their own independent union in Coahuila, Mexico.  The policy shift by Sara Lee is believed to be the first labor neutrality commitment by a transnational corporation operating maquiladora factories in Mexico. SINTTIM & ENLACE WIN PUNG KOOK FIGHT!

Maquiladora workers in Baja California Sur recently wrestled a historic victory from Korean based Pung Kook.  Enlace and SINTTIM succeeded in getting this transnational corporation to return to North America to settle up with the workers. For more information about the Pung Kook fight, click here.

SITESABES WINS FIRST EVER SECRET BALLOT UNION ELECTION IN MEXICO!

For the first time, workers voted in a union election by secret ballot in the presence of international observers. The local government also dedicated police protection for the workers. This decision is an amazing achievement that can change the history of unionization in Mexico. For more information about the SITESABES fight for justice, click here.
